A Face In The Crowd // Aidan

Post by Guest on Fri Apr 18, 2014 2:42 pm

Midgard, what an odd little realm, at least it was to Sigyn. The goddess of fidelity, loyalty, roamed the streets of this realm blending in with the crowds that massed on the concrete beneath their feet. Everything was large buildings, smoke, and flashing lights. She nearly felt a shred of abandonment, these people used to worship the norse, greek, and roman gods of the like. Now they stand faithless or under one sole god, it seemed utterly senseless to her. Throwing away the shrines and alters, perhaps they no longer needed protection. Then again, they were at constant war with someone else on there own home, a disagreement turns to bloodshed and we are no longer asked for help.

Shaking her head softly she drew a breath into her lungs, letting it rest there before releasing it in a gentle exhale. Raising a pale hand she brushed a strand of her black hair behind an ear, green gaze watching the passing people warily. Giving a soft smirk she went on, careful to avoid others, she didn't want the midgardians too close. She didn't trust them, not really, not when they have become what they are. A half baked society that's moving against itself. Rolling her eyes she flinched when she had sidestepped, bumping into someone. Freezing to her spot she didn't say anything, she wasn't sure if she should.

Aidan was glad that today wasn't a day where he had to go into work. This was one of the rare days where he had off. Of course if his sister knew that he was off then he knew she would come over and make herself at home. Don’t get him wrong he loved his sister Shadow, but there were times where he thought she had everything planned out for him, the whole nine yards. It was like he had his own cupid, so to speak. There was not anything he would not do to keep her safe and happy.

This job was what he had at the moment. He made sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. was doing their job and keeping her safe.  They had put agents who work closely with her to ensure she wasn’t in danger. He was thankful for that. If she was in danger then the agents on her would move her to safety. When that happens he was sure she would have a lot of question from him. He was prepared if that ever happened.  As for now everything was normal.

He was working a nine to five job with over time every once in awhile. With his sister all she needed to know was he was happy with his life. Of course there were times she would drop by unannounced. It was then the agents who were in the field to watch over her take care of the situation.  So far everything was smooth and Shadow didn’t know he was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He was doing his best to make sure she never finds out.

With being in S.H.I.E.L.D. he had kept busy and had not had the time to look into trying to find his parents killer. There was a lot he could look into, but his main thing was to be the best agent there. It meant he would have to choose his moment of searching for his parent’s killer carefully. If he didn’t he might get knock back to an agent in training. If that happened then it wouldn’t be good for him. He has been an agent for thirteen years. He was recruited to be and agent when he was seventeen.

He worked hard to get to where he was there was not going to be anything that would stop him from being the best agent he could be. It was going to be a great day for him. He was going to relax and go out on a walk. It would be nice to get out. He worked a lot of hours and did not have time for anything else.

He did not mind any of that at all. He was happy with what he had. There wasn’t anything he would change at all. Except the fact he would like his parents to be alive. He did miss his parents a lot. He would move heaven and earth to have saved them. There was no way he could change what had happen in the past; all he could do was focus on the present.

Aidan went to his room to change into something more comfortable. Being in a suit
All the time was something he didn’t mind, but every one in awhile it would be good to get out of his suit. He went over the closet and opened one of his draws. He looked in and pulled out a black t-shirt and black short.  He went over and put them on the bed. Then he slipped off the suit jacket and places it on the bed. He unbuttoned the shirt and took it off and placed it on the bed.

He took his pants off and placed it on the bed. It was then he changed into his comfortable clothes. He then got a hanger from the clothes and hung up his suit.  He clothes the closet door. He then went and sat down on the bed and he put on his socks. He walked out to the living room. He thought it would be a good idea to grab something to eat before he left. He decided he would grab something that wouldn’t take to long to eat.

He went over to the cupboard and he grabbed the peanut butter and put it on the counter. Then he went over to the refrigerator and took out the loaf of bread and jelly and sent it on the count as well.  Then he got a plate to make the sandwiches.
He made the two sandwiches and put them on the plate. He then took the peanut butter jar and he put it back in the cupboard.  Then he put the loaf of bread and jelly back in the refrigerator.

He took the plate with the two sandwiches and headed to the kitchen table.  He put the plate on the table. He looked to see his notebook next to the plate. He saw a pen next to the notebook.  He sat down. He opened the notebook and then he began to read what he had written.

He took a bit of his sandwich ever once in a while as he read. Soon he finished the sandwich and then he took the plate to the sink and washed it. He put the plate in the cupboard.  Once that was done he went and put his shoes on and then he headed out the door.

It was a little while walking around. It was a nice day out and there wasn’t anything pressing he had to go and do, so he walked slowly there was no rush to go anywhere or do anything.  It was then he bumped into someone…or more accurate someone bumped into him to avoid bumping into someone else. He looked to see whom he bumped into. It was a young woman she did look pretty, but there was something different about her. He just couldn’t place a finger on it at the moment.
“Sorry about that. I didn’t mean you bump into you.” Aidan said.

Sigyn stood frozen in her place, she had really hoped they would just move on and leave it alone. Taking a light breath she pulled a false smile to her lips, a wary look hidden in her green eyes. By the voice she could tell it was a clearly a man, but a stranger none the less so it made her wary to approach. Turning to face them she gently shook her head as if dismissing the apology. "Don't worry about it, no harm done." she mused trying to sound like she was from Midgard rather than from anywhere else. Holding out a hand for him to shake she kept the false smile and spoke once again. "My name is S..Sally." The lie was simple and she did hope he wouldn't see through it.

Giving her real name would possibly raise suspicion against her so, she decided it would be better to be safe than sorry. Her eyes flickered to the people standing around them, why did they have to move in a pack life fashion? Crowding the streets until you could barely walk at your own pace without being shoved. It was nothing like the refined grace of Gods and Goddess' she was used to at Asgard. Giving a light smile due to amusement at her thoughts she continued to look around. The blinking boxes that were street lights had captured her attention, she found them odd as well, changing colors; red, yellow, and green. Shaking her head to clear the array of thoughts she brought her gaze back to the Midgardian in front of her.

"What is your name?" The question was uttered easily, care free in nature but not unkind. Raising a hand she brushed a dark strand of hair away from her eyes, trying to think of more humany gestures. Sigyn, however is not very good at lying, never has been. That is why she does not have the title Goddess of lies, it was not a skill she possessed any better than an average person. She had noticed that even among the people of Midgard there were those that had "silver tongues" and could lie easily, charismatic individuals. It was interesting to see them with such talents. Were they so useless as she had thought? Perhaps not.

Aidan watched the young lady. He wasn't sure exactly sure what to make of her. He wasn't sure if she was friend or foe. It would be a good idea not to give out any information to her not until he knew if it was safe or not. She heard her say it was no problem at all  and then she gave him her name it was Sally. He didn't know if it was her real name or not. He felt the hair on the back of his neck rise. He knew there was something going on.
"My name is Adam. It's nice to meet you Sally. So… what brings you here to this part of town?" Aidan asked. It was a simply of enough question. As he interacted more with her then he could get a read on her.

He might go visit his sister Shadow at the end of this day, maybe. He did miss her a bit. The more time he spent away from her the safer she would be. He waited for the young woman answer. He did have to admit that his training was kicking in now. He did hope this wasn't going to end badly. There were a lot of civilian around. If it did end up as a fight he would have to find somewhere where it was deserted of people.  He was going to play cool until he could figure out why he couldn't put his finger on what was wrong with the young woman in front of him.

Sigyn gazed a bit skeptically at the midgardian man whom called himself Adam. Her gaze flickered with some doubt but she didn't let it show for too long. He gave an odd vibe, it made her nervous but she knew she shouldn't be. She wasn't committing any crimes, just visiting the realm to see what all the fuss was about. "Pleased to make your acquaintance Adam." She responded politely and then went to answer his question.

"I'm new here and just decided to explore." It wasn't a lie just a slightly altered truth. Her gaze wandering the buildings that lined either side of the streets. Such boring shapes, the big rectangles, nothing like Asgard. "It is rather...odd here compared to where I'm from." she mused and smirked a bit, looking back to him once more.
